Canadian High Commissioner to India visited Tiruvallur and interacted with Youth on Climate Change
The High Commissioner of Canada to India Mr. Cameron Mackay along with Mr. Bennett Prefontaine, Consul General of Canada to Bangalore, Mr. Mathew Loken, Councilor, Political-Economic, and Public Affairs, Canadian High Commission Delhi visited IRCDS, Thiruvallur where the project Climate Resilience and Carbon Reduction in South India - through building youth leadership for climate action (YOU-CAN) is implemented. The project is implemented in Virudhunagar and Chittoor districts as well with the technical support Children Believe through its partners and financial support from Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI). The event was attended by the youth representatives from all partner operational areas from Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. Dr. Belinda Bennet Chief International Programs Officer from Children Believe deliberated on the importance of collective action and Children Believe's a strategic partnership with the Government of Canada. The High Commissioner delivered the keynote address focusing on the importance of climate adaptation strategies and Canada's commitment to supporting innovative climate change adaptation measures.
