World Environment Day was celebrated on 05.06.2024 in IRCDS program villages by children, youth, women, and Panchayat leaders in the Poondi and Ellapuram blocks. An awareness rally, pledge, and cultural events on climate change were held in the communities. Saplings were also distributed to the communities for plantation. A total of 426 coconut saplings were received from the Rice Research Station, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University Extension Centre, Tirur, and distributed to 142 families.
