Training to Green Champions - Inaugural Function:
As part of the Climate Resilience Project, IRCDS conducted training for Green champions ie Panchayat leaders, Women SHG, and Youth Club representatives at the Poondi Block Development Office on 29/10/2024. The training program was inaugurated by the Poondi Block Chairman in the presence of the Vice Chairman, Block Development Officers. Forest Range Officers, the Assistant Director from the Agriculture Department, and the Block Coordinator for the Tamil Nadu State Rural Livelihood Mission are spoken in the program. Dignitaries lighted the lamp as a symbol of inauguration.
During this event, awareness posters (drawn by children from the project area) were released, and ID cards were issued to the Green Champions . Tree seedlings were also distributed to the participants, who took a pledge to protect natural resources and expand green coverage.
