Government Departments organized a Workshop on Improving Livelihood Opportunities for Widows and Destitute Women on 10th December 2025 at Tiruvallur as part of the BMZ & DIZ supported project. The District Social Welfare Officer delivered the inaugural address, followed by the Presidential address by the District Programme Officer (ICDS), and the Keynote address by Ms. Nancy J. Anabel, Country Director, Children Believe India, in the presence of the Commissioner and Block Development Officer, Poondi Block. The Tiruvallur Sub-Divisional Magistrate and Revenue Divisional Officer delivered a special address.

Representatives from the District Industries Centre, TAHDCO ( SC/ST Development), District Employment & Career Centre, Bank of India (Ponthavakkam Branch), and the District Legal Services Authority shared insights on government schemes, livelihood opportunities, and ways for women, widows, and destitute women to enhance their family income.

Government officials also assured and expressed their commitment to increasing the family income of these female-headed households. IRCDS continues its commitment to empowering vulnerable women through improved access to welfare and livelihood promotion schemes.

The MoU was signed in the presence of Shri. Sharda Bhushan Rai, Chief General Manager (Resource Mobilisation), and Smt. Anitha, General Manager, Chennai, at the Bank of India Zonal Office on 8th December 2025

IRCDS, in collaboration with the District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), celebrated Children’s Day on 14th November 2025 across Poondi Block with vibrant participation from children.

Morning Pledge on Child Protection Students in schools took a special pledge during the morning assembly, reaffirming their commitment to safety, respect, and mutual support. The Child Protection Officer from DCPU also addressed the children, encouraging them to stay aware and empowered.

Celebrations in Creative Learning Centres (CLCs) All our CLCs across the communities marked the day with enthusiastic celebrations. Children showcased their talents through cultural activities, role plays, and competitions—creating an energetic, joyful, and inclusive atmosphere.

The day highlighted children’s rights, protection, and creativity, making it a memorable celebration for all!
