Nutrition Kits Distributed to 100 Pregnant and Lactating Mothers

IRCDS, in collaboration with the Health Department and Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS), distributed nutritional kits containing 11 items to 100 pregnant and lactating mothers at Katchur Upgraded Primary Health Centre, Poondi, on 17th September.

During the program, the Poondi Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) and the Katchur Medical Officer delivered awareness sessions on the importance of the first 1,000 days of a child’s life and the need for exclusive breastfeeding during the first six months.

Together, we aim to strengthen our shared commitment to women’s empowerment through education. The MoU was signed in the presence of Principal Tmt. S. Sridevi and Mr. P. Stephen, Executive Secretary, IRCDS.

Training to Women SHG Leaders on Inclusion of Migrant Brick Kiln Workers

As part of the Azim Premji Foundation–supported Brick Kiln Migrant Workers Project, IRCDS is conducting a series of trainings for Women SHG leaders on the needs of migrant workers, women’s protection, social security schemes and the role of SHGs in ensuring the inclusion of brick kiln workers. These trainings focus on workers who migrate from Villupuram and Kallakurichi districts to Tiruvallur between January and June every year.
