Deep rooted social structures around caste and gender and perceived low values of girls, practices and culture around them make women and girls particularly as victims of violence. Women participation in decision making both at family and community level is not up the mark.

Persons with disabilities are often excluded from many life domains. Access to public services such as education, health care, rehabilitation, livelihood is restricted. Most of them are not participating in social events and are not involved in the decision-making process on the family- and community level. Most of the family members, community members and decision makers lack in deep understanding about the issues and rights of persons with disabilities in the “Rights” perspective. To improve their situation.

To address the root causes of nutritional deficiencies, parenting, low learning outcomes, all forms of violence against Women, Children, our program is designed in such a way to build an enabling environment through active stakeholders’ engagements that promotes Child friendly families, villages and institutions. The project envisages children as right holders and can claim their rights and duty bearers are accountable to ensure that the children have non-discriminatory access to quality services and their concerns are redressed.

Majority of the schools highly inadequate in terms of basic water/ sanitation facilities, adequate class rooms, libraries, teaching Learning materials technological equipment, compound walls, playground, subject specialists, quality of learning process and poor transportation. Relationship between parents and teachers, child friendly environment is lacking in schools. These are the main reasons for poor enrolment, retention and continuation of education in the government schools. This leads to children dropping out of schools and push towards child labour, child/ forced marriage, and unemployment issues.

IRCDS has been working to ensure decent work for all people particularly from poor marginalized sections of the society in both the formal and informal sector in line with ILO’s standards as follows: decent work involves opportunities for work that are productive and deliver a fair income, security in the workplace and social protection for families, better prospects for personal development and social integration, freedom for people to express their concerns, organize and participate in the decisions that affect their lives and equality of opportunity and treatment for all women and men. IRCDS engage in the following interventions towards this:
