MoU Signed Between IRCDS and Stella Maris College

IRCDS has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the renowned educational institution, Stella Maris College, Chennai on 9th July 2025, to foster academic collaboration and promote community development. The MoU encompasses various departments and wings of the college, including the Department of Social Work, the Stella Maris Centre for Development of Resources for Inclusion and Vocational Enrichment, the National Service Scheme (NSS), Youth Red Cross, Red Ribbon Club, and the Social Awareness Programme.

The MoU was formally signed by the Principal of Stella Maris College in the presence of the Head of the Department, professors, faculty members, German volunteers, and Ms. Preethi Titus, daughter of IRCDS Founder, the late Thiru. P. Titus.

This partnership aims to encourage mutual learning and cooperation through community-based fieldwork, research, internships, and active student participation in rural development initiatives.

Mr. P. Stephen, Director of IRCDS, was honoured with the "Achievers Award" by News 7 TV Channel in recognition of his remarkable contributions to the social work sector.

The award was presented by Hon'ble High Court Justice (R) Shri. S.K.Krishnan, at a special ceremony held at The Vijay Park, Chennai, on 28th June 2026

Creating Awareness on The International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking

On 26th June 2025, IRCDS collaborated with the District Child Protection Unit (DCPU) to observe "The International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking." The event was inaugurated at the Tiruvallur Collectorate by the District Collector. As part of the initiative, a Van Campaign jointly organized by DCPU and IRCDS was flagged off by the District Collector to raise awareness about the dangers of drug abuse and the importance of prevention. Through this campaign, the IRCDS team reached schools and communities.

In recognition of its committed efforts, IRCDS was honoured with a memento, presented by the District Child Protection Unit by the hands of the District Collector.
