What changes happened in my life ?

Immediately after I completed 12th grade, I joined IRCDS at the age of 19 and 13 years worked with IRCDS . I gained knowledge about communities and situation of the external world. I developed my communication , community mobilization , problem solving skills and established good networking with Govt. Institutions . I got four wheeler driving license with the support of IRCDS . My networking skills helped me to get Driver job in the Govt. I am so grateful to IRCDS team for giving me an opportunity to build my capacity and groomed me.

Eight years I am working as a Driver in Government Transport corporation. Nowadays, I am spending my free time by conducting cultural program ( Villupattu) in order to create awareness about gender equality , Children’s education and family peacefulness/ family harmony. Because of all these, my image and respect enhanced among my family and friends. I used to share about child protection in our drivers’ association meetings and my aim is to promote child friendly bus drivers and conductors .

Now I am serving as a Volunteer and Resource person for NGOs and Govt. Institutions on different social themes. While doing all these I feel like I’m serving from what I gained from the earlier days to Communities Government and NGO sector .
